Nordic Travel in Sweden AB is responsible for onlinereservations on this page.

These additional travel conditions to SRFs conditions [1] apply between Nordic Travel in Sweden AB, Box 163, 271 24 Ystad and you as specified in the confirmation. The agreement is valid for all types of products where Nordic Travel in Sweden AB is the organizer unless otherwise specified.

1. PRICES

The prices are quoted in Swedish kronor except where otherwise indicated. We reserve the right to make changes due to price and exchange rate changes beyond our control after this date.

2. WHEN IS MY BOOKING BINDING?

The purchase/reservation becomes binding as soon as it is confirmed verbally or in writing by the seller. These terms apply from the moment whether you have paid for all, partly, or not at all.
If the products booked with retailers, other booking and payment conditions apply. Be sure to check the conditions.

3. WHAT , WHEN AND HOW SHOULD I PAY ?

You must pay the price of the arrangement by the date given in the conditions of the booking. Both by phone and online , you pay according to the terms at the time of booking and only by credit card. To protect and encrypt your credit card details, we use the ”Secure Socket Layer ” technology (SSL).

Please note that for special pricing and special offers, your credit card may be pre-authorized and charged (sometimes without refund ) when booking and confirmation is made. Please check room and price information before you complete your reservation.

4. SUPPLYING OF COTTAGES

Nordic Travel in Sweden supplies contact of holiday accommodation between customers and organizers. Nordic Travel in Sweden AB is not the organizer of private cottages.

Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email from Nordic Travel in Sweden AB. Any further information you will receive from your current operator or from Nordic Travel in Sweden AB in the function of the agency .

Reservations are made on the basis of the description based on information from the organizer. Conditions regarding the final cleaning, final cleaning and linens can be found in the owners Terms and Conditions.

The payment of rent is made via credit card directly at reservation . If you encounter unexpected difficulties during your stay or if the accommodation is not in good condition, you must immediately contact the principal organizer/landlord

In case any serious damage is caused by the guest:
If damage occurs during the rental period of a private cabin, the guest will be liable to pay theinsuranceexcess.

5. CANCELLATION INSURANCE

For the reservation, a voluntary cancellation insurance can be taken out when making the reservation. The cancellation insurance only applies if you need to cancel due to accident, illness or death suffered by the traveller or a close relative. It must be possible to verify the above with a medical certificate which we must receive no later than ten (10) days after cancellation. It is not possible to book this insurance for groups over 9 persons.

6. CANCELLATION COSTS

When cancellation insurance is not valid or purchased

When booking with combination of different product categories, it is always the hardest cancellationrule that applies. If you wish to review, adjust or cancel your reservation, please follow the instructions that are given in the confirmation email. Please note that you may be charged for cancellation costs in accordance with the hotel’s cancellation policy and terms of no-show ! We recommend that you read the terms and conditions carefully before you complete your reservation. Observe that for events and groups there is special terms.

To cancel or change a reservation, the following charges apply, unless otherwise specified in your booking confirmation:

– Cancellation and change of hotelroom, Bed & Breakfastroom 

A change or cancellation must be made at the latest 17:00 the day before arrival. If canceled or modified later than 17:00 the day before arrival or a no-show will be charged 100% of the booking price. If you are unable to attend at short notice and out of office hours, you can contact the property directly for the possibility of cancellation. You must then notify Nordic Travel within two weekdays.

– Cancellation and change of hostel

A change or cancellation must be made at the latest 14 days before arrival. If canceled or modified later than 14 days before arrival or a no-show will be charged 100% of the booking price. If you are unable to attend at short notice and out of office hours, you can contact the property directly for the possibility of cancellation. You must then notify Nordic Travel within two weekdays.

– Cancellation and changes of cottages and apartments

  • *From the day of booking until 70 days before arrival: 10% of the total rental amount , with a minimum SEK 500
  • *From 69 to 40 days before arrival: 25% of the total rental amount, with a minimum SEK 500
  • *From 39 days before arrival: 100% of the total amount

– Cancellation and changes of camping

  • *From the day of booking until 40 days before arrival: 10% of the total amount, with a minimum of SEK 500
  • *From 39 to 12 days before arrival: 50% of the total amount, with a minimun of SEK 500
  • *From 11 days to 2 days before arrival: 75% of the total amount.
  • *From one day to 0 days before arrival: 100% of the total amount.

– Cancellation and changes of the packages, activitys, events, tickets, giftcards or transport

Not possible to cancel or change, unless otherwise stated in the booking confirmation

Please note! Cancellation via callcentre must take place within our regular officehours . Please note that your cancellation is not valid until you have received a written cancellation confirmation from Nordic Travel. If you are unable to attend at short notice and out of officehours you can contact the property directly to check the possibility of cancellation, and you must then communicate this to Nordic Travel the next business day. Refunds can not be guaranteed if you cancel directly to the hotel. Please note that certain discounts and offers can not be changed or canceled. Refunds will not made for ” No-show” . Check your booking confirmation you received at time of booking for more information about your booking and your booking conditions.

Special terms for events and groups (group is over 9 persons)

When cancelling or changing a booking for events or groups, the following fees apply, unless otherwise specified in your booking confirmation:

– Cancellation for the whole group or parts of the group

  • Up to 35 days before arrival, the booking can be cancelled without incurring a fee.
  • Later than 35 days before arrival, 50 % of the latest reported value of the booking is debited.
  • Later than 21 days before arrival, 75 % of the latest reported value of the booking is debited.
  • Later than 7 days before arrival, 100 % of the latest reported value of the booking is debited.

Charges for cancellationinsurance, invoices and cancellationcosts will not be refunded

Can the journey not be used for reasons that are valid according to SRFs conditions for packages [1],we will refund the booking amount after deduction of a fixed cancellation fee of 600 SEK. Unused tickets must be returned as soon as possible.

7. CHANGING A RESERVATION

Changing reservations via callcentre in cases it is possible from terms of the booking conditions is charged 100 SEK

8. COMPLAINTS

Complaints must be presented to the person responsible of the product such as the hotel, golf course manager etc, or his agent as soon as possible. If you are unable to solve the problem, please contact Nordic Travel by phone +46 411 558725 or email info@nordictravel.se [2]

The right to complaint is lost if you do not inform the vendor or the person responsible for the product. If you leave the accomodation, golf course or event and the organizer does not get a reasonable time to solve the problem you forfeit the right to compensation. Claims for compensation must be sent to Nordic Travel in writing no later than 30 days after the end of the journey

9. USEFUL TO KNOW – FROM ÖLANDS TOURIST INFORMATION!

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE
Read the confirmation details carefully in order to avoid misunderstandings and in particular check the arrival and departure dates.

EQUIPMENT
All cottages and apartments and most of the chalet villages are equipped for self catering. You need to bring towels, sheets and consumer goods. Sheets are available for hire in some instances. You must accept that holiday accommodation will often differ from the standards you set in your own home.  Furnishings may sometimes be somewhat old fashioned: wallpapers and carpets may not match your taste. The quality and comfort of beds may not always be what you are accustomed to. Note the number of persons are not allowed to be more than number of beds. Day visitors may not stay overnight without permission from the proprietor. The owner of the property is entitled to charge for an extra overnight stay. It is also not allowed to pitch a tent or place a caravan in the property’s garden, without the owner’s permission. Bunk beds and sofa-beds are common, and extra beds may be simple camp beds. Cutlery and crockery are not always of the same design. Water heaters can be of small capacity, which means that it may be necessary to allow an interval of time to elapse between showers. In country districts it is common for a cottage to have its own well, and the water may have an unfamiliar flavour or colour. This is not dangerous. This is often due to groundwater levels and drinking water reserves during the summer, which unfortunately are beyond our control.  Cottages with this type of water supply have their source analysed and approved. Calcium is wholesome for the body, but on Öland the water is extremely calcareous. It may leave marks in pans, on kitchen sinks, on washed clothes, in the toilet and in the shower. This is completely harmless but may appear “unclean” if you are not used to it.

CLEANING
Bring cleaning material along in order to be able to do a proper cleaning before departure. If cleaning is not properly done, we will have to arrange cleaning at your expense. On arrival, you may be asked to deposit a sum of money to cover cleaning. This will be refunded on the day of departure when the cleaning has been checked and approved.

SAVE WATER
There is a risk of water shortage on Öland. The groundwater levels are at a record low and the situation is serious. The municipalities on Öland are working hard to secure water supply in the short and longer term, but it is more important than ever that both residents and visitors help save water. We cannot take access to drinking water for granted. We can all do our bit in preserving this vital commodity. Every drop counts.

GARBAGE EMPTYING
Garbage emptying is carried out only once every 2 weeks. Please, sort out as much as possible. Follow the instructions at your accommodation. Öland has 22 recycle-stations throughout the island, where you can deposit such as glass, paper, plastic etc. for free.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
If you have a disability or other special requirements for your stay, you should make sure to have all your questions answered by the booking contact before you make your decision. It is almost impossible for us as the booking agent to know what is of particular importance for you. Do not take anything for granted – just ask! Among our accommodations, there may be fully handicap-accessible properties but also houses that are partly handicap-friendly, i.e. the toilet or shower may be handicap-enabled or there may be a ramp at the front door.

PETS
If you wish to bring a pet, this must be made clear at the time of booking. Please remember that not everyone likes to live in a house where pets have been in the bed. Many accommodations do not allow pets and/or smoking indoors. The fact that pets and smoking are not allowed does not mean that the premises in question are suitable for persons suffering from allergies. When accommodation is required for allergic visitors, please consult our staff.

UNINVITED GUESTS
Summer is the insect season, and visitors to country places must be prepared to deal with flies, mosquitoes, earwigs and other creepy-crawlies. If you book a cottage in the countryside or accommodation at a farm, there may be animals in the pastures nearby. Take this into consideration if you have a family member with allergies.

SURROUNDINGS
Summer is an active time. Many people renovate their cottages, farmers get the hay in – which sometimes needs drying by means of fans, the road service mends roads and the neighbours may have parties. All these things may disturb the peace of the locality. By tradition, most of the houses on Öland are located near a more or less busy road.

FISHING
You are welcome to make use of our fishing waters, fishing is free along the coast, with hand equipment.

COMPARING PRICES
Do you feel the prices are high, compare the price of your accommodation to a stay at a youth hostel for example, divide the price by the number of persons that can stay in the cottage and the number of nights you stay. For example 918 EURO for 1 week and 7 persons=131 EURO per person, and only share kitchen and bathroom with people you already know.

CHARGING BATTERIES
Charging batteries for e.g. electric cars from a power socket in the owner’s house or another building on the premises is only allowed after consultation with the owner.
